What Do Mathematicians Do When They Reach a Proving
Impasse?
(2012) Proceedings of the 15th Annual Conference on Research in Undergraduate Mathematics Education
This accepted proposal into the RUME Conference deals with what happens when two professors "get stuck" (an impasse) and how they overcome those impasses. This is part of a larger study aiming at figuring out how to handle such difficulties in proof construction. The proposal and article submitted for the 2012 RUME conference proceedings is attached below:

Teachers Learn How to Effectively Integrate Mobile Technology by Teaching Students Using Math Snacks Animations and Games
This chapter was written with my colleagues in the Math Snacks grant, Dr. Karen Trujillo, Dr. Karin Wiburg, and Kerry McKee. In this chapter, we describe how we used our Math Snacks to not only teach students, but teach teachers effective pedagogical strategies with mobile technologies. We elaborate in detail our process which had two separate professional development models. These professional development models were for middle grade teachers, but can be used for K-12 teaching. The full chapter is included below, and will be published sometime soon in the book Pedagogical Applications and Social Effects of Mobile Technology Integration.

Research in Undergraduate Mathematics Education
February 23rd-25th, 2012 (Portland, OR)
In this conference, I presented my research on impasses and incubation in the proving process. Impasses in the proving process are a period of time in which when the prover has not made progress on a proof and has no new ideas. The talk can be downloaded below.
